From an early age, transforming a thought or an idea captivated my imagination and sparked a lasting passion within me.

Having grown up in London as an Italian, I am very much aware of the influence of culture and perspective on the way we think, act and view our realities. Photography, just like English, is a language which can be manipulated and utilised in endless ways, demonstrating where we choose to focus our attention and express our emotions.

Starting with Manga-style comics and drawings, later moving on to graphic design, in which I received my BA degree in 2014, to then arrive at photography in my mid 20s.

The switch to photography was due to a nostalgic wish of capturing the realities surrounding me in a way that presents them as novel, isolated and epochal. This explains my fascination with black and white; its timelessness. While colour is just as beautiful, bnw photography encapsulates the subject (or landscape) in a feeling, an era, which lasts forever. The image is no longer a literal replication of a person/place, but a funnel with which to observe the past; a memory.

Using unusual perspectives, strong contrasts and capturing emotion in its tracks, my images are nothing more than a reflection of my perspective on the world. That which satisfies me, interests me, thrills me, frightens me and, above all, reminds me that I am alive and witnessing these beautiful phenomena.
